Shannon Stamey, LMFT (she/her)
Therapist for women, couples and mothers in Charlotte, NC

I believe healing happens best when you feel safe, seen, and supported. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, burned out, disconnected, or stuck in painful relationship patterns, therapy can be a place where you finally exhale, feel understood, and begin creating meaningful change. My goal is to provide a warm, nurturing, and judgment-free space where you can show up exactly as you are.
As a therapist, wife, and mom, I understand firsthand the many roles women carry and the invisible mental load that often comes with them. I know how easy it can be to lose yourself while caring for everyone else. I’m passionate about helping women reconnect with themselves, set healthy boundaries, heal from past wounds, and move through life with more confidence, peace, and clarity.
I work with women navigating anxiety, depression, burnout, trauma, PTSD, life transitions, motherhood stress, and relationship challenges. I can also support women through pregnancy, postpartum, fertility struggles, and the emotional changes that accompany motherhood.
For couples, I help partners move out of conflict and disconnection and into deeper understanding, healthier communication, and renewed connection. With advanced training in the The Gottman Institute Method, I help couples build practical tools to strengthen their relationship and navigate challenges as a team.
I am also trained in EMDR, an evidence-based therapy approach that helps clients process trauma, reduce emotional distress, and heal from experiences that continue to impact the present.
I believe every person and every relationship has unique strengths. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to your specific needs. I’ll meet you where you are, help you understand what is keeping you stuck, and support you in building the life and relationships you truly want. I do my best to create the space my clients need to express their struggles in their own words. I walk through their struggle with them, providing support, tools and techniques to cope and heal. My greatest joy is to see clients come out on the other side of that struggle and find the life they’ve been hoping for. I am often humbled and always honored o be invited on this journey with my clients.
If you’re looking for a therapist who combines clinical expertise with warmth, authenticity, and compassion, I would be honored to walk alongside you on your journey.
