Looking for support on your caregiving journey?
Join our Caregiver Support Group, a warm and welcoming space led by Therapist Toni Mason, beginning Thursday, October 9 at Charlotte Women’s Counseling. This group is designed for those caring for loved ones with dementia and/or Alzheimer’s, offering encouragement, practical tools, and a sense of community. Each week, we’ll explore meaningful topics like self-care, managing stress during the holidays, caregiver guilt and grief, asking for help, and finding local resources.
Come connect with others who understand—you're not alone and we hope you will join us!
When: Thursdays from 6:00pm - 7:30pm
Dates: TBD; Submit Interest below - group will begin once 5+ members are enrolled!
Where: Charlotte Women's Counseling; 1800 East Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28203 AND Virtual Option (based on preference)
What to expect in this group:
Processing and skills for caregivers of individuals with dementia and/or Alzheimer's. Are you a caregiver and looking for resources, or support? This group sets out with the goals of:
● Learn essential coping strategies to manage stress.
● Gain a better understanding of emotions and thoughts.
● Improve effective communication skills.
● Learn about the community resources available to assist with caregiving.
● Create a sense of community.
Examples of weekly topics:
Self-care tips, effective communication skills (how to ask for help), caregiving and grief, managing holiday related stress while caregiving, caregiver guilt and resentment, financial/legal planning, community resources for caregivers and their loved ones.
