Arleta Nelson, LCMHCA, (she/her)
Therapist for women and couples in Charlotte, NC

Love is one of the most beautiful and sometimes most complicated parts of being human. I work with individuals and couples who are dating, engaged, newly married, or years into partnership, helping them find clarity, connection, and confidence in their relationships and within themselves.
Many of the people I support come to therapy feeling uncertain about the future of a relationship, torn between staying or moving on, or simply disconnected from who they used to be. Together, we slow things down, make space for honesty, and begin the work of rediscovering yourself, the version of you who feels grounded, clear, and capable of love again.
I also specialize in supporting women through major life transitions, from anxiety and identity shifts to the ever-changing seasons of being a woman or motherhood . Whether you’re expecting, newly postpartum, or juggling the many roles women often carry, I offer a calm, compassionate space where you can lay down the weight you’ve been holding, reconnect with yourself, and build the resilience to move forward with grace and confidence.
With couples, my focus is on rebuilding connection and strengthening communication. Whether you’re navigating conflict, healing from past hurts, or simply longing to feel like a team again, we’ll work together to understand what’s beneath the surface and rebuild trust and closeness. I draw from the Gottman Method, attachment theory, and Emotionally Focused Therapy, always ensuring both partners feel equally supported and heard.
For those who wish to include it, I can also integrate faith-based perspectives into our work, always honoring your comfort level and beliefs.
My hope is that therapy with me feels like a deep breath, a space to pause, reflect, and grow. Whether you’re seeking healing, clarity, or connection, I’m honored to walk alongside you as you create the life and relationships you deserve.
