Edily Boykins, LCMHCA
Therapist for women and mothers in Charlotte, NC

What does it look like for you to be seen, heard, and validated?
Navigating life as a woman is challenging and presents obstacles at different stages. We carry many “hats”: mom, wife, employee, and the list goes on. In keeping up with our
day-to-day lives we forsake our own mental well-being because we are taught to tend to the needs of others first. In doing so pain, resentment, and at times hopelessness creep in which makes us feel even more isolated. How can we take care of everyone else when it feels like we’re drowning? As an Afro-Latina, I also understand cultural expectations that can sometimes affect our self-esteem and identity. Just know, you are not alone. I have had my own struggles and can understand what it’s like to enter the therapeutic relationship. I am grateful and honored to walk alongside you in your journey whether you are suffering from depression, anxiety, overwhelming emotions, or setting boundaries, I am here to help.
My style of therapy is eclectic inspired by Person-Centered, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Trauma-Informed Therapies. However, I will tailor my approach based on your individual needs.
I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counseling Associate and a graduate of Liberty University. I am also trained in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders through Postpartum Support International. On my free time I enjoy cooking, walks, dancing, or watching a favorite show.
